Tungsten Carbide Rings: Unbeatable Strength and Durability
Tungsten carbide rings are precision-sintered from micron-grade tungsten-carbide powder and cobalt binder, offered in seamless one-piece sleeves or segmented combined pieces for rapid replacement. At 700 °C they remain four times harder than high-speed steel and exceed tool-steel yield strength by more than sixty percent. Their dense cobalt matrix shrugs off chloride, sulfide and scale in aggressive cooling water, tripling corrosion-fatigue life compared with conventional rolls.
This extreme hardness combines with outstanding thermal conductivity to keep working surfaces cooler for longer, delaying heat-checking and micro-cracking. Mirror-finished edges reduce friction and groove wear in high-speed wire and bar mills, cutting unplanned downtime, scrap rates and overall tooling costs to deliver truly long-lasting performance.
